INDONESIA, 3/7/2026 — In celebration of Earth Day 2026, the Regional Dialogue on Schools Climate Action Project (SCAP) will bring together educators, students, institutions, and partner organizations from across the region for an online gathering centered on climate action, collaboration, and education.
The event, themed “Our Power, Our Planet™,” will be held on Saturday, 25 April 2026, from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM (IST) via Zoom.

The regional dialogue aims to move beyond awareness by highlighting practical, evidence-based, and solution-oriented responses to climate challenges affecting schools, communities, and wider society. It will serve as a platform for participants to share research, school-based initiatives, case studies, and scalable models related to climate resilience, sustainability, and environmental education.
This gathering continues the momentum of the 1st Schools Climate Action Project Summit (SCAPS 2023), which was hosted by the Philippines and co-hosted by Indonesia. The 2026 dialogue builds on that earlier success by expanding regional participation and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation around climate action and education.

The event will feature a distinguished lineup of keynote speakers, including:
- Dr. Emma Porio, Professor at Ateneo de Manila University, Lead author with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and lead principal investigator of Coastal Cities at Risk in the Philippines
- Lucia Vazquez, Consultant, Global Schools Program, United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN)
- Subhajit Mukherjee, Founder and Mother Teresa Memorial Award recipient
- Neela Majumdar, Director-Education & Outreach, Earthday.orgAsia
The dialogue is being convened by Joshua Vidal and Shahnaaz Ojha, with the support of participating schools, institutions, and partner organizations across the region.
Interested schools, universities, organizations, educators, and students are invited to register and submit abstracts on or before 11 April 2026. Submitted abstracts may be considered for inclusion in the official Book of Abstracts (Proceedings). Further guidelines and event mechanics will be shared once registration closes.
By bringing together voices from different countries and sectors, the Regional Dialogue on SCAP seeks to promote replicable practices, encourage youth and educator leadership, bridge research and implementation, and highlight locally grounded but globally relevant climate solutions.
As climate risks continue to intensify, the organizers emphasize that education must play a central role in preparing communities not only to understand these challenges, but also to respond to them with innovation, resilience, and shared responsibility.
